The Best Habits Of Productive People

No matter where you are in life, where you’re working or working on a business, people are still looking for ways to be more productive, both on the job but also when it comes to the projects you have in your freetime. Of course you can always drink tons of caffeine, to keep going and be more productive, but that won't last in the long run. So let me talk about some healthier habits that should make you more productive.

But before we get into the habits, let me make it clear what productivity actually is. It is a lot more than just sitting at your desk and checking off your to do list. If you are productive you aren't focused on doing more things, actually they focus on doing fewer things in their daily work day. So now let us get into the habits that will make you become more productive than ever.

  1. Have Half As Much On Your To Do List

Being productive and getting work done in your normal workday, doesn't mean fitting as much in your work hours as possible. You don't need those 30-40 things on your to do list, instead you should focus on getting the tasks done that really matter, and do the less important things when you actually have time for it another day.

  1. Breaks

When you have worked so much that you have headaches, you should definitely take a break. That's when your brain will have used up its glucose, therefore you should go take a walk and get some fresh air, eat a snack. Then when you're done, you're all refreshed, recharged and able to work with greater efficiency, than if you had just stayed and worked all the time.

  1. The 80/20 Rule

In reality only 20% of all the work you do on a workday, produces 80% of the results you achieve. Therefore you need to remove the things on a normal workday that don't matter, because they have zero to no effect on your overall productivity. The next time you have a project you work on, break it down into steps, and remove all the unnecessary tasks, until you have those 20% off all the tasks that will produce the 80% of your results.

  1. Spend The Morning On Yourself

Do you spend your morning checking in on work, mails, phone calls, messages? Those exact things are a big productivity killer, and it's bad to already kill your productivity from the morning. Therefore you should start the day out right, by focusing on you, take a bath, eat some good breakfast, read the news or work out. This will boost your productivity and mood, and enable you to produce a lot more in a day.

  1. Do The Challenging Tasks Before Noon

Be sure to always do the challenging and tough tasks, when your brain is still fresh. If you have any meetings, normal busy work whatsoever save them for later on the day if possible. This way of scheduling your day will make you much more productive during a workday, and you will be able to manage your time even better than before.

  1. Create A System

You have probably developed a lot of habits, and systems unconsciously, for example checking your phone first thing in the morning, checking mails before breakfast and so on. Therefore you need to create a system consciously, a system you control and that you follow. For example, first checking your phone and emails after eating breakfast would be a great example of a good system to follow. If you don't have a system to follow, you will be distracted by all the other goals you have, and end up forgetting some of your goals.

  1. Productivity And Laziness

No one wants to realize and admit it, but in reality we all know that laziness is one of the biggest contributors to lost productivity. We all know the kind of jobs and tasks we want to do, just because it doesn't take much work, and we are lazy. But instead of taking the not important tasks, and getting nothing of importance done. You should instead start off with focusing on the important tasks and get them done as efficiently as possible.

  1. Don't Multitask

Stop trying to do more tasks at once, don't change tasks all the time, focus on the one you have chosen to do, and finish it if possible. The only time you can change tasks is if it's not possible to finish it, because of circumstances. Therefore focus on the task you're currently doing, and take them one by one through the day.

That sums up all of mine and the internet's tips and tricks on how to be more productive. I sincerely hope you can use some of these tips in your daily work life, and get more done in a day! You don't need to implement all of these at the same time, just take them one
